. . . the kids and niece and nephew were not sorry about not saving bacon for me this morning. they know i'm going to santa about this. that's how i roll when it comes to pork products.
First off I have to say that I have a crush on this woman, I want to be her (well I am a Mom, I do drink and I do swear), I love how she tells it like it is - but anyway back to her status - it got me thinking - don't we all truly feel this way about our pork products, which then got me to thinking that hog farming really isn't as glamorous as cattle farming (as I stand in a steamy hog barn wet, smelly and covered in bits of feed and shit) - I can't post pictures of us riding horses across the pasture, of our employees lookin' good in Wranglers and chaps, a herd grazing in the valley - but we work just as hard just in not as picturesque conditions!
So I have decided that today- Monday October 3 - will be National Post For Pork Day - I don't really think I possess the power to declare anything a National day but I am going to anyway, oh heck, while I am abusing power that I don't have why not make it International Post For Pork Day!
So get to it (please) - leave a comment here about how much you love pork, post "I LOVE BACON" on your facebook page, post it on my blog Facebook page, post it on our farm Facebook page, Tweet about it, go up on your roof and shout it for the neighbors to hear, scream it out your car window when your stuck in traffic, text it to all your contacts in your phone! Show a hog farmer some love - give one a pat on the back - he may smell but your hands will wash, just think about his poor wife, her laundry room smells like that all the time and her garage and sometimes her kitchen where he takes his boots off and her kids and her vehicle and . . . .
